I Can’t Get Enough of the Knee High Sock Trend

So it was the first official fall event of the year… Octoberfest!  I couldn’t wait to finally break out some of my new fall wardrobe. An orange-ish dress (that still looks cute in the summer on its own) with a chambray shirt, brown suede boots and the pièce de résistance … cream colored knee high socks that poked out of the top of my boots.
Then the tall man said to me … “Your socks are showing…” and I said “I know, it’s in style”
“Are you sure? That looks funny.” And then he continued to look at my legs with a mocking glare every time we spoke until I couldn’t take it anymore — and took them off.
Sure enough we saw five other fashionistas at Oktoberfest who were strong enough to brave the strange looks they got from unknowing men.

Later in the day a friend text messaged me an image from Express so that I could prove to him it was in style. We all had fun with it … and now my man (who I am still not sure if he likes the look as much as I do ) knows better 🙂

What I think I like so much about this look is how affordable it is. Any outfit you may have already loved from last fall and winter is instantly updated with a less than 10 dollar purchase.
I just bought a pair of thigh high socks from target for get ready… $7.00 !!! Can’t wait to rock them.

P.S. Don’t be afraid to wear brighter colors or patterns or even knits. If you are wearing basic colors a brighter blue will liven up a chambray shirt or a pattern will give the outfit more texture.

P.P.S. This may have been up and coming last fall or winter too… I’m late to the sock party.

Haha… At least Dom gives you an honest opinion! I have a feeling no matter how weird Matt thinks something I wear looks he wouldn’t tell me. 😉

hahaha last night I was trying on things to see what I was going to bring to his grandparents this weekend. In conjunction I had a pair of pleather leggings on the floor that I was going to try on next to see if I could wear them for a “jersey shore themed weekend” I have coming up.

He timidly asked “Are those black leggings?” I thought he was talking about the PLAIN ones I had on and starting getting upset telling him they were totally fine to wear to his grandparents. He got really quiet and took it all back.

Needless to say there was a misunderstanding. As if I would wear PLEATHER LEGGINGS TO HIS GRANDPARENTS haha 🙂 But the poor guy was too nervous to say anything.
