32 Weeks (8 Months) and a First Look at the Nursery

There are still a bunch of things that we need to do (buy) but I am hoping that by this time next month his room will be ready for him!

There is a white glider chair I want for the corner by the changing table. We also just hung some white shelves in that corner. I plan to change out the curtains and curtain rod as well.

Nick made the changing table out of an old dresser we had. We wanted to make sure that the changing pad was secure on top of the dresser so he painted and secured some 2×4’s on top. I love it!

The crib will go here (photo below). I am thinking of making some ombre bunting flags (DIY here) to go above the crib.

I also just ordered this print from etsy in a pearl grey color. I’m still not sure exactly where I will hang it yet.

I promise I will have a final update when we are all done.

Week 32: Baby is the size of a squash

Average size: 15.2- 16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 lb.
Sleeping and waking cycles are establishing…

How I’m feeling: At this very moment I feel okay but by 4pm today I will feel like crap. He definitely had a growth spurt recently and by the end of the day my back and ribs and legs have had enough.

I’ve also been having some acid reflux in the middle of the night while I am sleeping. I will get sick before bed if I eat too much at dinner, there is no room to keep it down. It woke me up one night and I felt like I was choking. Gross I know. It just rises up into my throat 🙁

Most Major Issues:  My ribs are really bad again. I missed work one day this week because it hurt so bad. Ice packs are still the only thing that helps. Tylenol is useless. Numb hand is still annoying and has progressed to random shooting pains in my forearm at the end of the day.

Maternity clothes: I bought a few maxi dresses because I have my best friends Bridal Shower to host this weekend. I look as big as a house in them though. I’m only 5’3 and long dresses make me look even shorter, throw a belly in there and … well you get the idea.

I looked at my swollen calves and feet last night and got a little upset. Nick is good to me and always hugs me and tells me I am beautiful when he can tell I am stressing the changes going on with my body.

One more vent… my arms. It’s like all of my weight gain went to my thighs, arms and face. Terrible. I should be glad spring is taking so long get here, this way I can stay covered up.

Stretch marks: Not yet — fingers still crossed.

Sleep: Sleep has actually been a little better this week. I think maybe I am just so exhausted that there is no keeping me awake. I’m like a rock.

Best moment this week: Unfortunately this has been a difficult week. Last week and this week were stressful at work and we have so much to do at home as well. It’s been one thing after another to have to get done and terrible timing with my 3rd trimester.

This morning I allowed myself to sleep in a little though and when we woke up Nick and I were able to just lay there and talk for a few minutes and read the news together. That was nice … I am going to cherish those moments.

Movement: I can feel the difference in his movements lately. He is much bigger this week. His movements feel more like rolling movements and they start low by my hips and end higher by my ribs. Big, big growth spurt for Baby Austin this week 🙂

Oh and no growth scan yet. He is measuring normal just by checking the size of my belly so they don’t do ultrasounds in my doctors office unless they have a reason to worry. Everything looks great!

Food cravings: Smoothies. Cold smoothies.

Belly Button in or out? Still in. I think it will stay that way.

Wedding rings on or off? Still off.

The nursery looks great! And dont worry, all the bloating will disappear so quickly and you’ll be ready for summer!

The room looks pretty good so far. Dott is right, you will be amazed at how quickly your swelling goes down. It’s ridiculous how much water one little body can hang on to.
