Daytrip: Sunset Hills Vineyard

This was my second time at Sunset Hills Vineyard.

The first time was in September last year with my friend Jamie who was in town visiting from Connecticut.

It wasn’t long after (maybe a few weeks) that I found out I was pregnant with Austin. I couldn’t help but think about how different my life is now. So much can change in a year.

This time we went because Austin’s godmother and my best friend Heather was in town from New York.

Nick knew I was in desperate need of some girl time and surprised us by paying for a few rounds of Wine-a-Ritas ahead of time. He really is the sweetest. (Lucky)

It’s hard to explain the flavor of a Wine-a-Rita.

It’s sweet but not too sweet, slightly slushy and cold. Totally crave-able. I’ve been thinking of them since last year and was excited to have another one (or two).

Just like last time we ordered some warm crusty bread and baked brie with honey. We also got a fig almond spread and mozzarella wrapped prosciutto.

Hello lover …

It was probably the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. (Remember that time when I couldn’t have brie cheese for 9 months and talked about it all the time?)

For just a few moments I actually forgot that I was already missing Austin, forgot that I haven’t had a full nights sleep in months, forgot that I was a full time mommy who still doesn’t fit into her normal clothes and that life revolves around breastfeeding.

It was just what I needed and I hope to do it again soon.

Looks so fun! I’ve never had a wine-a-rita but I want one!
