Lose the Baby Weight and Clean Eating Week 1
Can you believe Austin turns one in five months?
I’d like to lose the rest of my baby weight and more by then. I’ve got 10 lbs to go and I want to lose 10 more. The plan is clean eating 90% of the time and moderate exercise regularly.
In order to hold myself accountable have been posting almost all of my meals on Instagram. It really helps keep me motivated. I will post my favorites meals on here once a week too!
I have 24 weeks … but I’m only setting that goal to get started. I’d like this to be a forever thing, I really like how “clean” food makes me feel. It’s not just about the weight, it’s about my well being too.
So far I love my Paderno Spiralizer and have created some really awesome dishes that even the hubby is enjoying. Zucchini noodles with extra virgin olive oil and garlic with organic pasta sauce and turkey meatballs was definitely this weeks best meal.
Breakfast and lunches have to be pretty planned out because of my work schedule (and so I don’t spend a gazillion dollars at the grocery store) so they basically stay the same all week. On the weekends I can mix it up a little. Here was this weeks plan:
Breakfast: Ezekiel toast (sprouted grain bread) with a wedge of laughing cow light and some siracha on top with some berries or an orange and coffee with almond milk. I also top my toast with smashed avocado sometimes or coconut peanut butter and raisins sometimes.
Lunch: Salads all week. Spring mix greens and kale, honey crisp apples, sunflower seeds, olive oil and Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper seasoning. Lean turkey roll ups dipped in whole grain mustard (about 3-4 slices) or some grilled chicken.
Snacks: Oranges or grapefruit, Wasa crackers with laughing cow light, berries or apples. (I didn’t plan well with the snacks this week 2-3pm is my weakest, hungriest hour and I just didn’t have enough)
Dinner ideas: Zuchini noodles and turkey meatballs, salmon and quinoa, roasted butternut squash (I made this but didnt really like it) Grilled lemon, garlic chicken and sweet potatoes, one pan summer eggs, avocado salads on the side.
This weeks biggest challenge: All of a sudden I’m allergic to dairy. (What the heck?) Not fun. For weeks I’ve been not feeling well and just figured out that’s why. Did that happen to anyone else after pregnancy? I am reading it’s actually common. So weird.
If you know me you know I love cheese. Saying goodbye has been hard, but I figure that eliminates a lot of fat out of my diet right off the bat, so I may see results a lot sooner.
This weeks biggest inspiration: This week was the first episode of “Toned Up” on Bravo. Just watch one show and you will want to jump on the tread mill immediately. Talk about gorgeous. Karena and Katrina are totally inspiring. Also, this chick on Instagram is awesome.
I hope you don’t mind that more healthy recipes will be taking over the blog but I promise I will still post jello shots and cocktails. (A girl has got to have a little fun right?)
