Austin’s 2nd Birthday

Unlike last year, we really stuck to the plan to not throw a huge party. Austin is in constant motion. Running, playing, laughing, whacking things just always moving.

Keeping him stuck in the house and inviting a bunch of our friends would not be fun for him at all.  Throwing an outdoor party with activities for kids didn’t make sense either because he doesn’t have school friends yet and our friends typically have kids that are older or younger.

So we kept it simple. I made him a barn, because the kid loves barns. My mom and Grandpa came into town from Connecticut and my best friend Ericka stopped by with her husband.

We ate my famous buffalo dip and played with cars.

We made aaaaaaamazing cuban slider sandwiches in the oven.

My mom made Austin the tractor cake that he asked for over and over again.

And Austin played to his hearts content and ate donuts for lunch.

We kazooed happy birthday and he got the biggest grin on his face that I have ever seen. I mean he was BEAMING.

Just look at that face. Eeeeeeee! My heart melts every time I see this photo because I just can’t get over how genuinely happy he was for us to sing and kazoo to him.

And then we took him to this little water park down the road called Volcano Island and he had even more fun all over again.

Happy birthday to my little man. My cuddle bug. My sweet baby. We love you so much!
