Life Lately: Big (HUGE) News and Friendsday Night with IZZE
Were you on to me?
I thought for sure with my massive intake of fresh fruit and carbs, lack of workout posts on Instagram and new wardrobe consisting only of flowy blouses, that everyone knew what was going on.
It’s been craziness around here you guys. New position at work. Book will be in stores this week. Super hormonal and nauseated all. day. long. But we are so happy and so excited!
Okay so here’s the story. The plan was to start trying in April. This way I could be preggers for 9 months, take my maternity leave and make it back to work in time for the 2016 presidential election. Yes really. Everything revolves around politics when you work in DC.
But then we weren’t totally ready by April.
In May we figured I should just stop taking my pill and let God decide what was best for our family. Well, his answer was unequivocal. I was pregnant by June.
Did I mention I have been so incredibly sick. So. Freaking. Sick. Here is what got me through it:
1. I tried to think about how this is our last baby (The plan is for only two kiddos) and I wouldn’t ever get feel like this again. The good and the bad.
2. Lavender and lemon verbena sprays. Something about the fresh scent made me feel better.
3. Carbs. So many bagels with cream cheese.
The other thing that made me feel better was realizing that I was actually brave enough to do this again. I was giving my son a sibling, something I never had and growing our beautiful family.
We went to Nick’s cousin Christie’s house for a Friendsday night celebration last weekend and so she could help me with my chalk art announcement. We brought new bottles of IZZE Sparkling Water for everyone to try as well.
Christie just had twins and they have another little girl named Avery who is a little older than Austin. It was so fun to watch Austin and Avery play together.
Austin wouldn’t sit down at the dinner table. Which was embarrassing but typical. He kept bringing play food from the play kitchen over to the table and giving it to me. Avery sat like a little angel and ate her food nicely. The twins made hungry “feed me” baby noises. We all attempted to have adult conversations and eat hot dogs and take care of the little ones at the same time.
It sounds hectic but it was great. I love it. I can wait to add another one. Especially when we have family in the same place as us. We can all chase around our crazy kids together.
Whats better than that?
Well that’s it for now. I can’t wait to write more pregnancy posts! I loved sharing this stuff with you guys last time. I also wanted to give a shout out to Karissa Carr. She won my favorite things giveaway and there were some hiccups in shipping and then I was crazy sick and it took longer than I would have liked to get to her. Thank you Karissa xoxo and thank you for reading for so long!
Alright … off to go sell books now. In 48 hours Jelly Shots: A Rainbow of 70 Boozy Recipes will be stocked in book stores. Can you believe that??!
