I’ve been brainstorming on this shot for awhile and I wasn’t sure how they were going to turn out but I think they are perfect. No one really eats a whole huge strawberry all at once. It makes sense to cut it in half so that it’s perfectly one bite.
You can arrange them in a circle, square or ever a star on a serving plate for the perfect presentation!
Unlike last year, we really stuck to the plan to not throw a huge party. Austin is in constant motion. Running, playing, laughing, whacking things just always moving.
Keeping him stuck in the house and inviting a bunch of our friends would not be fun for him at all. Throwing an outdoor party with activities for kids didn’t make sense either because he doesn’t have school friends yet and our friends typically have kids that are older or younger.
Like 90 degree, don’t even try and do you hair, melt your jello shots weather. We are looking at five straight days of this kind of heat here in DC. A perfect time to talk about things that beat the heat. Like hydrating fresh watermelon.
Or not so hydrating boozy watermelon jello shots! I made them for Austin’s non-birthday party, birthday party. (More photos of that coming soon)
My mom got this mold free with a Jell-O purchase a long time ago at the grocery store. I’ve been staring at it in my pantry trying to figure out what the heck I could make with it.
I can finally give you a little peek into my jello shot cookbook! You know it’s been driving me crazy to have to keep it a secret.
Okay, so like I said before all the chapters are organized around every reason you could possibility have to have a partay! Fourth of July? I got you. Birthday? No problem. Cinco de Mayo? Si seniorita.
ALSO, because I am so excited and this is such a big deal (once in a lifetime!) I decided to do a giveaway of all of my favorite things. None of this would be happening if it weren’t for you and I want to thank you!
2. Lindt HELLO Chocolate Bars. Have you guys ever had these? Strawberry Cheesecake, brownies, cookies and cream … all of the best things ever stuffed inside a chocolate bar. Heaven. I hide them in the top drawer of my dresser. Don’t judge.
You guys, you guys, you guys. OMG. I can’t stop eating these.
It’s Memorial Day right now and Austin is napping and we still have plans to go to a water park when he wakes up and I have to stop. eating. boozy. coffee. dessert shots.
But it’s soooooo good and my little man has been such a tornado today.
I was going to make a jazzed up version of a Vietnamese coffee but then I saw these mouthwatering photos on Pinterest of “Coffee Jelly“.
I decided that I had to try it. Especially when I saw that the creamy part is sweetened condensed milk. I could eat that stuff all by itself with a spoon (maybe I have). And because I am who I am … I added booze! Yes. Yes. Yes.
